Shit was magical.
Rita Ora opened, with a very decent set, obviously doing Hot Right Now and RIP (both were admirable), proving she actually has a good set of lungs. Caitlin kept saying how hot she was in person as well, which made it fun.
Captain of all my musician ladyboners Robyn came on next, and was “intense” according to Caitlin and Phelps, but I nearly weed myself with joy. She did Be Mine, which is my favourite song of hers and I swear I was the only person in our vicinity singing along. She DEFINITELY looked at me though, but possibly because I was jumping up and down screaming along to everything. Ended with With Every Heartbeat, which was swell :) and yeah, I could have uploaded one of her face, but those velvet leggings need to be seen by the world.
THEN COLDPLAY. My gawd. Opened with Hurts Like Heaven, and went from there. Highlights include: EVERYTHING. OH, AND EVERYTHING ELSE. No, seriously. Between the fireworks, strobe display, bouncy balls and crazy amounts of energy, I don’t know what I liked the most. The encore was mental though, Chris Martin said there was going to be a “surprise fifth member”, so we just thought it’d be a musician…BUT NO IT WAS SIMON PEGG. PLAYING THE HARMONICA. I nearly died. Fairly certain James wee’d his knickers. Shame we were so far from the tiny stage they were on, but it was still bitching as hell.
Plus, I had the emotions of starting and ending my degree with Coldplay gigs to think about, which was very poignant and rather nice.
